After two impressive victories in qualifying,  Yoan Boronad  et  Timeo Fonteny  hoped to continue their journey in the main draw of the  Pretoria P1 Opposed to the Spanish  Pincho Fernandez  et  Ignacio Vilariño , two players from the  Top 60 worldwide The French bowed down.  4/6 6/2 6/3  at the end of a match in which they kept their opponents doubting for a long time.

From the first exchanges,  Boronad  et  Fonteny  display their intentions.

The start of the second set remains balanced, but a few details will turn the game around.

The French make several avoidable mistakes and quickly concede the break. In the aftermath, tensions rise on the court, with a verbal exchange between  Yoan Boronad  et  Pincho Fernandez .

This episode seems to disrupt the French team's momentum.

From  3-2 The Spanish gradually gained the upper hand.  Timeo Fonteny  shows more frustration, loses some lucidity, while Fernandez and Vilariño increase in intensity, encouraging each other on every point.

The final score inevitably leaves some regrets, so much so that  Yoan Boronad  et  Timeo Fonteny  had the weapons to pull off a very big heist.

After their superb qualifying run, the two Frenchmen mainly showed, during a set and a half, that they were capable of competing with a pair from the  Top 60 worldwide .

They leave Pretoria with  32 FIP points They gained experience at the highest level and found plenty to be satisfied with. While the result was frustrating, the content of their week in South Africa confirms their progress and their ability to compete on the circuit.  Premier Padel .
