The day of the round of 32 of the  Pretoria P1  has provided several compelling stories. Drafted after the withdrawal of  Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas ,  Alvaro Montiel and Flavio Abbate  turned their second chance into qualification for the round of 16. Conversely,  Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz The sixth seeds, [names omitted], fell in their opening match. A second chance that they exploited perfectly. Facing  Marc Quílez and Fede Mouriño Montiel and Abbate won in two sets.  6 / 3 6 / 4 to reach the round of 16. A scenario that would have been hard to imagine two days earlier.

 Castaño and Goenaga take down the No. 6 seed 

The biggest surprise in the men's draw came from  Manuel Castaño and Enrique Goenaga .

already winners of Alonso Rodriguez and Juan Ignacio De Pascual  In the first round, the two Spaniards confirmed their form by eliminating  Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz , seeded No. 6. Castaño and Goenaga made the difference at the end of a very close match:  7/6 6/7 6/4 .

In the ladies,  Tamara Icardo and Claudia Jensen , seeded No. 6, made a successful start to the competition against  Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga , with a victory  7 / 5 6 / 2 .

 Julieta Bidahorria and Marta Caparrós  have dominated  Alicia Martínez and Lucía Luján ,  6 / 3 6 / 2 , While  Jimena Polo and Marina Lobo  needed three sets to eliminate  Carmen Fernandez and Nuria Guerta ,  6/2 3/6 6/3 .

Finally  Marta Barrera and Jana Montes  won a particularly close match against  Las Heras and Kucheriava , concluded after three sets and two tiebreaks:  6/3 6/7 7/6 .
