There was ultimately no suspense in the second women's semi-final of the Pretoria P1. Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea comfortably defeated Alejandra Salazar and Aranza Osoro (6-2, 6-1) to reach their third consecutive final after Bordeaux and Malaga. The world number ones will face the tournament's sensation, Claudia Fernandez and Martina Calvo, on Sunday in a highly anticipated match.
A show of force
A more competitive semi-final was expected after the upset achieved the previous day by Alejandra Salazar and Aranza Osoro against Marta Ortega and Sofia Araújo. In the end, it wasn't to be.
From the first games, Gemma Triay et Delfi Brea They imposed a relentless pace. Quickly taking the lead, they never gave their opponents a moment's respite.
While Gemma Triay once again demonstrated her dominance in the air, it was above all Delfi Brea which impressed. Argentina delivered a top-level performance, contesting every point with remarkable intensity. Omnipresent in defense, surgical in their offensive choices, they eventually overwhelmed Salazar and Osoro from the very first breaks.
In the other diagonal, Gemma Triay quickly gained the upper hand on Aranza Osoro unable to find solutions against the quality of the ball and the power of the Spanish player. A dominance that gradually took Argentina out of the game.

Salazar and Osoro never found the key
The image displayed by Alejandra Salazar and Aranza Osoro contrasted sharply with that seen in the quarter-finals. Against Ortega and Araújo, the two players had impressed with their creativity, aggression, and ability to rise to the occasion in crucial moments.
This time, they were never able to reproduce that intensity.
Aranza Osoro made numerous unforced errors, while Alejandra Salazar never managed to influence the match. Early on, both players seemed resigned to the level of play displayed by the world number ones.
Nevertheless, their tournament remains a resounding success. Reaching the semi-finals for their first tournament together, after eliminating Ortega and Araújo, is an extremely encouraging result for the future of their new partnership.

A third final in a row
With this swift victory, Gemma Triay et Delfi Brea dispute their third consecutive final , after their final at Bordeaux P2 then their coronation at P1 of Malaga .
They will try to win a second consecutive title , a feat they hadn't achieved since their double victory Gijón–Cancún at the very beginning of the season.
After the match, Gemma Triay emphasized her team's mindset:
“Today, I felt great on the track, with good sensations and a smile. That’s the key to our team: enjoying playing. I’m very proud of the work done with all the staff. Playing every Sunday is extremely demanding.”
The same message came from Delfi Brea, who was already focused on the final:
"New pairs are always difficult to play against. Claudia and Martina are playing at an incredible level. It will be a very complicated match, but today our goal was to stay focused on every point. We did a very good job. Tonight, we're savoring this moment, and tomorrow we'll think about the final."
A final that's already making our mouths water
To win another trophy, Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea will now have to put an end to the dream of Claudia fernandez et Martina Calvo .
The two young Spanish women, aged 20 and 18, qualified for the first final of their brand new association after pulling off a stunning upset against Bea González et Paula Josemaría .
The experience and consistency of the world's number 1 players against the carefree talent of the circuit's new sensation: it's hard to imagine a more enticing match-up to conclude this South African week.
A final that is already shaping up to be... one of the major events of this 2026 season .
