This Saturday in Doha, the women's final of the Qatar Major 2025 will offer a long-awaited duel between the two best pairs in the world: Ariana Sánchez & Paula Josemaría (No. 1 seeds) against Gemma Triay & Delfi Brea (seeds No. 2). This will be the first Major final of Premier Padel opposing the number 1 and number 2 pairs in the ranking, a poster worthy of the event.

Sanchez / Josemaría: Defending their throne

The world number 1, reigning champions in Doha, defend the 2.000 points collected in 2024 in Qatar. They have won only one title this season, in Riyadh, and have lost two finals against their opponents of the day (in Gijón and Miami). The statistics are favorable to them in the long term, but they do not earn more in outdoor events since the Paris Major 2024 last October.

Ariana and Paula have already won 4 Majors on the circuit Premier Padel, a record for the women. In the event of another defeat, it would be the first time that they have lost two consecutive Major finals. The pressure is therefore very real on their shoulders.

Triay / Brea: the momentum of confidence

Opposite, Triay and Brea are riding an exceptional dynamicThe Spanish-Argentine pair won three titles in a row in 2025 (Gijón, Cancún and Miami), and remains undefeated since mid-February, the date of their last defeat in Riyadh.

Gemma Triay could go a little further into the history of padel: She is already the only player to have won Majors with two different partners. (Ortega and Fernandez), and is aiming for a third with Delfi. For his part, Brea has not never won a Major, but a victory in Doha would allow him to make a second “poker” consecutive: four titles in a row, as in 2024 (Puerto Cabello, Brussels, Seville, Asunción).

A decisive third act

For the moment, the balance sheet of direct confrontations in 2025 is clear: 2-0 in favor of Triay / BreaThis final will therefore be an opportunity for Sánchez and Josemaría to take their revenge and reaffirm their status, or for Triay and Brea de confirm that they are now the queens of the circuit.

The show is guaranteed.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
