Several French players were involved in the final rotations of the day, including a highly anticipated all-French duel… and plenty of action on almost every court.

Vives / Joris emerge victorious from a huge all-French duel

It was the match of the day. Manual Vives and Maxime Joris were facing Thomas Vanbauce and Julien Seurin in an intense, committed and very high-level duel.
After a first set mastered (6/4), Vives and Joris seemed to have gained the upper hand. But the momentum shifted in the second set. The rallies became more intense, Vanbauce and Seurin gained momentum, and at 6/5, four consecutive unforced errors by Joris / Vives give the set to their opponents (5/7).

Guichard/Geens showing mental fortitude despite fatigue

Another solid performance from the French side: Dylan Guichard and the Belgian Clement Geens secured their place after a three-set match against Calvo / Suescun.

An unexpected Franco-French duel among the alternative parties
