On qualifications of Premier Padel Rotterdam P1 started this Sunday with several French people involved. If Dylan Guichard et Léa Godallier passed the first round, the day was more complicated for Bastien Blanqué et Johan Bergeron, beaten in a French-French duel.

Guichard wins a big fight

The first round offered an almost 100% French match with Blanqué / Bergeron facing Guichard / Dorta Diaz. In a close duel from start to finish, it was finally Guichard and his Spanish partner who won 5/7 7/6 after nearly two hours of battle.
The stats confirm the intensity: 53% of points won by Guichard / Dorta against 47% for Blanqué / Bergeron, and a better efficiency on break points (29% against 17%). Guichard thus confirms his dynamic, he who has just come out of a title of champion of France dropped out in front of… Blanqué.

Tomorrow, Guichard and Dorta will have a big challenge with the seeded 1, Agustín Gutiérrez and Javi Valdés.

Godallier-Marchetti at the meeting

In the ladies, Léa Godallier reunited with her former Italian partner Giorgia Marchetti. Facing the Dutch wildcards Luttikhuis / Hemmes, the favorites suffered more than expected but ended up winning 7/6 6/3.
Trailing from the start, they were able to break away and then win the first set tie-break thanks to their experience. In the second set, they took a while to widen the gap but ended up winning 6/3.

Godallier and Marchetti will play tomorrow against the seeded 6, Patricia Martínez Fortun and Jana Montes Cabruja, for a place in the final draw.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
