There are tournaments that stand out, and this P500 Sete Padel - is clearly part of it. Here, we forget the pressure and the stakes to make way for a friendly atmosphere, where top French players come to hit the ball alongside the younger ones. A real mix of generations, with that little touch of legacy which is good to see.

Young people rub shoulders with big names

What immediately strikes you is this joyful mix of young talents and established players. It's hard not to smile when you see Timeo Fonteny, 14th French, share the track with Thomas Layrisse, 16 years old and 1688th French. And that's not the only surprising pair.

We also crossed paths Yoan Boronad (11th French), who allied himself with Victor Caby (15 years old, 710th). And then there was this totally offbeat but downright cool duo: Benjamin Tison, 36 years old (currently 15th French and former French n°1) and Gabriel Bessiere, 12 years old and 2245th!

We have also seen associations between friends with Baptiste Hayet (90th) associated to Mathieu Arnaud (425th) Raphael Rubio (64th) with Lorenzo Dandieu (692th), and Vincent Ferrara (63rd) alongside William Lary (432nd). A real cocktail of generations and levels, but always in a good-natured spirit.

An atmosphere like no other

What makes this P500 Sete Padel - cool, it's this desire to associate the big names in padel French with young people looking for experience. Here, there are no barriers, we play together and we learn from each other. This is clearly what we like in this kind of tournament: seeing top players share their experience with passionate teenagers, without any hassle.

And finally, for the record, it was the 14th seed pair of the tournament, Ben Tison / Gabriel Bessière, who won against the 1st seed, Guillaume Lary / Vincent Ferrara.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
