It’s a nice tribute that was paid to Fernando Belasteguin on the sidelines of the Greenweez Paris Major finals. On the central track, a few moments after Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez had won the title, King Bela was notably welcomed by Gilles Moretton, the president of the FFT, and Arnaud Di Pasquale, tournament director.
“I couldn’t imagine playing in this arena one day”
Speaking in French, the native of Pehuajo (Argentina), pioneer and master of the discipline (160 titles to his name) stressed the good vibrations felt on the Philippe-Chatrier court. “The first time I discovered this court was for Roland-Garros 2020, and I couldn't imagine then being able to play padel in this venue“, Bela said. “This place has truly changed the trajectory of padel, and for my part I was able to realize my dream: to play here. Thank you very much!”
Goodbye Paris then… Next year, Fernando will be treading the Parisian stage as a visitor!
Not a day goes by without a line… of padel court! For a few years now, Frédéric has decided to devote himself to his lifelong passion: the little yellow ball and its merciless world. Addict, did you say addict?
