Beyond the victories, the forfeits and climatic interruptions, the Santiago Premier Padel P1 also saw some lighter moments. At the press conference preceding the men's final (ultimately canceled), Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebrón offered journalists a sincere and humorous exchange, revealing the accumulated fatigue... and the minor tensions of a shared daily life.
As Stupa spoke about the physical and mental effort required to complete Cancun, Miami, and then Santiago, emphasizing the work on recovery and mental health — "We each have a sports psychologist" — Lebrón interrupted him jokingly:
"You're sick of me, I can see it, it's true."
Laughter in the room. And Stupa continues, without hesitation:
“No, from you, from Charlie, from everyone!”, before moderating in the process:
“We are like that, we need space, and sometimes we move away to feel better the next day.”
Stupa explains that he preferred to dine alone the night before, to catch his breath:
"Yesterday I left the team and had dinner in peace."
A teasing Lebrón bounces back:
"Aren't you having dinner?"
to which the Argentinian replies with a smile:
"Tonight I'm having dinner alone."
