Lucho Capra, a well-known Argentinian player on the padel circuit, is going through a difficult period. After a promising start to the 2025 season alongside Juanlu esbri, its progress was stopped dead by a right meniscus injury.
A sudden halt
During the match against Tapia / Coello In Riyadh in the eighth round, Capra was injured on the track. Verdict: meniscus tearAn operation is quickly decided, but it does not go as planned. In an interview with Twenty Ten, Lucho explained the details of his medical journey.
“There are two ways to operate on the meniscus: either by removing a portion and cleaning it, which allows for a quick recovery, or by sewing it back on, which takes longer.” The initial idea was to opt for the first method, but once in the operating room, the surgeons realized that this option was not possible. So they chose to sew the meniscus, which significantly lengthens recovery time.
Day-to-day rehabilitation
The healing process is taking longer than expected. Capra admits it's difficult to stay away from the field: “The process is a bit slow, the evolution is happening day by day.” Every little improvement is good to take: “There are days when I move my knee a little more, when I can do an exercise that I didn't do last week.”
For now, Capra remains focused on his rehabilitation. He is still on crutches but keeps in mind his primary objective : walk normally again. “Sometimes you wake up and think, 'I wish I could walk normally, get back on the field.'”
Return without rushing
Lucho Capra's return to the track will still take time. The Argentinian remains in good spirits despite everything and knows that the priority is to take the necessary time to return to 100%.
Fans are eager to see him back in action, but for now, Lucho remains focused on his recovery. We hope he returns to the field soon.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
