We often complain that women's matches are too long... especially now with the removal of points of gold on the Premier Padel. Two-set matches that last more than two hours…it has almost become commonplace!

However, Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez proved to us that it was possible for a female encounter to end in less than an hour… and during a Major final ! Therefore, we have found for you the quickest finals on the women's circuit!

Valladolid Open, 2016

We begin this retrospective with two legends of padel feminine : Mapi et Majo Alayeto. The twins showed up on the Valladolid track to face Lucia Sainz et Gemma Triay, the world number 5 at the time.

A meeting which ultimately ended because Mapi and Majo had inflicted a 6 / 1 6 / 1 in less than an hour. The twins had simply outclassed their opponents at the time, to offer themselves their second consecutive title.

Monaco Master, 2016

The same year, during the Monte-Carlo Padel Master, the final was also one-sided. This time they were Alejandra Salazar et Marta Marrero who had imposed themselves, in the face of Patty Llaguno et Elisabet Amatrian.

The number 1s at the time won the title after just under an hour and a half of play and won the final 6 / 0 6 / 2. A match which had “lasted” a little because there was no golden point at that time.

Cordoba Open, 2019

We had to wait three years to see a one-sided final on the World Padel Tour. However, the protagonists do not change – almost not – since we find in the final Marta Marrero et Marta Ortega, opposed to Patty Llaguno et Elisabet Amatrian.

Once again, a victory in less than an hour and a half for the “Martas” who had left no hope to their adversaries, by winning 6 / 2 6 / 0.

Alicante Open, 2021

We enter a little more into the padel modern, post Covid-19. It is in 2021 that we find one of the quickest finals in history, with an emblematic pair: Gemma Triay et Alejandra Salazar. Those who dominated the padel women for years were faced with Paula Josemaria et Ariana Sanchez.

For the most picky, this meeting lasted 59 minutes and 31 seconds. A match which had been completely overlooked by the Triay / Salazar pair, ultimately won 6 / 0 6 / 1.

Swedish Open, 2022

The next year, Paula Josemaria et Ariana Sanchez had taken revenge on Gemma Triay et Alejandra Salazar. It was during the Swedish Open that the Dynamite et Magic ari had taken their revenge, inflicting a heavy defeat on their main rivals.

Paula and Ari had imposed themselves 6/1 6/1 in 1h12, by winning 63% points in the final!

Italy Major, 2024

This is the most recent: once again, Paula Josemaria et Ariana Sanchez did not hang out on the field. 50 minutes et a lost game to avoid surprises from the tournament, Patty Llaguno et Lucia Sainz.

The world numbers 1 were in full recital during this final, leaving only 10 small points to their opponents in each round. Patty and Lucia, despite their respective experience, were unable to find solutions to get out of it and gave in 6 / 1 6 / 0.

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
