Among all the revelations from the old A1 circuit Padel,  Aimar Goñi  is undoubtedly the one that has attracted the most attention in recent days. Still unknown to the general public a few months ago, the young Spaniard is currently exploding on the  P1 of Tarragona , where he puts in a string of impressive performances and establishes himself as one of the  great hopes of world padel .

An explosion in Tarragona

It was during the tournament of  Tarragona P1  that Goñi truly stole the show. Alongside  Mario Ortega , the young Navarrese realized  a resounding feat  to eliminate the pair as soon as they enter the competition  Paquito Navarro / Lucas Bergamini  in two straight sets (7/6 6/4) in what remains one of the big surprises of the week.

But Aimar didn't stop there. In the round of 16, he confirmed his full potential by winning after a  three-set fight against Agustín Torre and Enzo Jensen  (6/4 3/6 6/3), thus validating its  ticket to the quarter finals , where he will have the honor and the challenge of facing  Alejandro Galán  et  Federico Chingotto.

A very physical profile

At 1m95, Aimar Goñi has a  impressive wingspan , ideal for modern padel, where net coverage and powerful smashes are crucial. But what really sets it apart is  the rare balance between its brute strength and technical finesse Able to finish points with authority, he also knows how to vary the rhythms and play correctly at key moments.

The comparisons are quick to emerge: some already see in him  a right-handed version of Arturo Coello , a reference among the big names on the circuit. If the road is still long, everything seems to be in place for Goñi  settles permanently in the elite .

What's Next ?

With such a start, it would not be surprising to see him, in the very near future, associated with a  much higher ranked player , he who is  still beyond 200th place worldwide.  Its potential is already attracting the attention of  observers and established pairs looking for new blood.
