The title of best smasher on the circuit  Premier Padel  sparks much debate among fans of this sport. Indeed, several players stand out for their power, their technique and their ability to conclude points in a spectacular way. But who really deserves this title of “best smasher”? (Part 1)

Leo Augsburger: A rising star with a powerful game

Leo Augsburg , a 20-year-old Argentinian prodigy, is one of the most promising talents on the circuit  Premier Padel Ranked 30th before the start of the 2025 season, he is preparing to team up with a new partner,  paul cardona , currently ranked 15th in the world. A spectacular player known for his impressive smashes, Léo displays a notable rate: he smashes  64%  of the lobs he receives, or 2 times out of 3. With his imposing size (1,90 m), his exceptional power and his ability to finish points in the air, he is already among the best smashers on the circuit. Does he have the potential to become the reference for smashing on the circuit?

His duet with  Cardona , also 20 years old and measuring 1,88 m, another powerful player, announces an explosive and spectacular association!

King Arturo: An outstanding finisher

Arturo Coello , left-handed playing alongside Agustín Tapia  as world number 1 on the circuit  Premier Padel , has, just like  Leo Augsburger , an imposing physique (1,90 m) and remarkable power. These qualities also make him one of the best smashers and finishers on the circuit. At only 22 years old,  Coello  stands out for his complete playing style, combining power, technique and a formidable ability to close points at any time.

In the first part of the 2024 season, he averages nearly  17 smashes per match , with a success rate of approximately  57% . Not to mention that he marked the second half of the season with Tapia by establishing impressive records.

Agustín Tapia: The Mozart of padel, master of all registers

When we think of  Agustín Tapia , it is his remarkable talent and exceptional ball touch that immediately come to mind. Nicknamed the “ Mozart of padel “, he is also renowned as one of the best smashers on the circuit. Although he is shorter in height (1,79 m) than some of his compatriots such as  Arturo Coello ,  Leo Augsburg  or even  Alejandro Galán , Tapia compensates with his smash technique.

His ability to transfer energy from his legs combined with his wrist speed allows  Wall  to hit the ball with formidable spin, without needing the raw power of a player like  Coello . This technical approach allows him to display one of the best smash conversion rates on the circuit, with an efficiency of  61% . In 2024, it achieves on average  17 smashes per match , illustrating both his high volume of play and his mastery in the discipline.

The circuit  Premier Padel  is full of exceptional players, each bringing their own style and skills. Whether it's  Leo Augsburger  with his power and determination to finish the points,  Arturo Coello , whose physical strength and versatility make him a formidable smasher, or  Agustín Tapia , whose technical mastery and ability to punish his opponents at any time place him among the best, the debate remains open. Other players, such as  Juan lebron ,  Ale Galan , and many others, also fuel this discussion.
