The return of the pair formed by Paquito Navarro and Martín Di Nenno is one of the major topics of this 2026 season. Three years after a first notable association on the circuit, the two players are relaunching their collaboration with the objective of returning to the top.

But this return is not universally welcomed. Invited by our colleagues at VeinteDiez, Sanyo Gutiérrez did not hide his concerns, offering a direct analysis of the current situation.

A critical look at Di Nenno's level

The former world number one is paying close attention to his compatriot's progress. According to him, the issue isn't so much the overall level of the circuit as the individual momentum of the Argentinian player.

"I don't see him playing at his best today. I think he's more doubtful and less effective than he was a few years ago." he explains, in essence.

Moreover, the San Luis player insists on a key point: for him, the current hierarchy is not explained solely by the progress of other pairs.

"It's not that the others have progressed so much, it's mainly that he's regressed." he adds, highlighting a form of regression in Di Nenno's game.

A pair dependent on the level found

In this context, the success of the Navarro/Di Nenno duo will largely depend on the Argentine player's ability to regain his best form.

Sanyo Gutiérrez sets a clear framework:
If Di Nenno returns to his former level and Navarro maintains his current form, the pair will be able to compete with the best teams on the circuit. Otherwise, they risk remaining at the bottom of the rankings.

A lucid analysis, but also tinged with expectation: the Argentinian veteran recalls that he hopes to see his compatriot return to his best level, particularly in a collective perspective.

A highly anticipated return to the international stage

The first responses will come soon. The pair will make their official return at the Italy Major. Premier Padelscheduled for early June, after the South American tour of the circuit Premier Padel.

This event will serve as the first full-scale test for an association which, in the past, had managed to impress as much by its style as by its results.

It remains to be seen whether this new version will actually be able to compete for titles… or whether the doubts expressed by Sanyo Gutiérrez will be confirmed on the track.
