Le Riyadh Season Premier Padel P1 marks the opening of the season Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour 2025. This second edition of the tournament takes place at the Padel Rush Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from February 10 to 15, 2025, after qualifying phases disputed by February 8 and 9.

A high level of competition for this first P1 of the year

The men's main draw brings together 40 pairs (34 direct entry, 4 from qualifications and 2 wild cards), while the women's table has 28 (23 direct entry, 4 qualified and 1 wild card). The best pairs benefit from direct entry to the next round : top four in the FIP ranking will start in round of XNUMX.

With a points allocation reaching 1000 points for the winners, this tournament is of capital importance for the rankings.

Men to watch: ambitious new duos

The title holders Alejandro Galán and Juan Lebrón will not play together this year, leaving the field open to a renewed hierarchy. The focus is on the world number 1 Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, finalists here last year, and who could be the only ones to reach a second consecutive final.

Among the new associations, we find in particular:

  • Juan Lebrón and Franco Stupaczuk (seeded #3)
  • Momo Gonzalez and Jon Sanz (#6)
  • Paquito Navarro and Lucas Bergamini (#7)

An expected confrontation could oppose Stupaczuk/Lebrón to Martín Di Nenno/Javi Garrido in quarters, then possibly Lebrón to his former teammate Galán in the semifinals.

Another possible surprise: Salva Oria and Nachi Sager, surprise semi-finalists last year, are returning to Riyadh, but with new partners.

A women's table marked by intense rivalries

In the ladies, Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, winners of the 2024 edition, are still the favorites. But competition is being organized, in particular Delfina Brea and Gemma Triay, who are looking to dethrone the Spanish duo.

Other teams seeking success:

  • Bea González and Claudia Fernández, who want to play the party poopers
  • Vero Virseda and Alejandra Salazar, in search of continuity after meeting again in 2024
  • Aranzazu Osoro and Jessica Castelló, ready to shake up the established order

Un potential quarter-final between Josemaría/Sánchez and Jensen/Icardo, as well as a possible semi-final Triay/Brea against González/Fernández, promise great duels.

Finally, this tournament marks the start of Carolina Navarro's final season, a legend of women's padel, who was world number 1 for nine years.

Day 1: First battles on the courts of Riyadh

The first day of the main draw already has some hooked matches. Among the posters to follow:

  • Miguel and Nuno Deus, under the eyes of Cristiano Ronaldo in qualifying, face Arnau Ayats and Pablo Garcia.
  • Carmen Goenaga and Bea Caldera are trying to open their counter against Vero Virseda and Alejandra Salazar.
  • Rama Valenzuela and Pol Hernandez challenge the experience of Miguel Lamperti and Daniel Santigosa.
  • Arruabarrena and Rufo, who start as a duo, face Alix Collombon and Araceli Martinez, finalists of the CUPRA FIP Tour Finals.

Finally, we will obviously have the French Alix Collombon associated with Araceli Martinez, who will also make her entrance.
