The Argentinian coach Rodri Ovide officially announced the immediate end of its collaboration with the Rodri Ovide Academy Bali, a project recently launched in an idyllic setting and presented as a new center of excellence for international padel.

Just a few weeks after the opening of this academy located in Indonesia, Ovide published a clear statement, in which he explained that he had made the decision to withdraw for reasons related to profound disagreements with the principles that guide his career.

“I wish to inform you that I have decided to end my involvement with the academy project in Bali, with immediate effect.

My commitment to the professional development of padel has always rested on three fundamental pillars: ethics, respect, and professionalism. Unfortunately, over time, disagreements have arisen on these aspects, particularly the inappropriate use of my image, which reflects neither my values nor my way of working.

I sincerely thank all the players who have invested themselves with enthusiasm, passion and confidence in this project.

I will remain, as always, focused on initiatives that are in line with my principles and with a real and transparent development of international padel.

Thank you for your continued support.

An ambitious project brought to an abrupt halt

The Rodri Ovide Academy Bali was conceived as a high-end space blending performance and well-being: padel courts, a weight room, sauna, cold plunge pools, Pilates, physiotherapy services, and dedicated areas for players. The aim was to offer a premium experience, somewhere between a sports training camp and a luxury stay.

But according to the technician, the inappropriate use of his image and disagreements over project management made continuing this collaboration impossible, contradicting his vision of...ethically and professionalism.

A firm and deliberate decision

Rodri Ovide reaffirms his commitment to remaining true to his values and to investing only in projects that respect a clear and sound vision for the development of padel. He thanks the players who believed in this project, while emphasizing his desire to continue working towards a transparent and structured padel environment.

Still a major reference in the circuit

This separation does not alter his status in any way. Recently integrated into the Rafael Nadal Academy As head of training methodology, Rodri Ovide remains an essential figure in modern training, both for professionals and young talents.

If the Balinese adventure ends abruptly, it also testifies to one thing: the Argentinian coach prefers to break rather than compromise with his principles.

Benjamin Dupouy

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
