Cruel defeat for Alix Collombon et Araceli Martinez, in the first round of Rotterdam P1. Once again unlucky in the draw, They were playing the 4th seed in the tournament, Jessica castello et Alejandra Salazar. After a 2h30 battle, the Franco-Spanish pair finally lost: 6/7(5) 6/1 6/3.

Araceli Martinez and Alix Collombon gave their all on court 1 of the Rotterdam P1. In the first set, they chased the score throughout, before managing to a well-deserved break, putting them back in the race. So much so that they pushed their opponents to tie-breaker. In this decisive game, the Collombon / Martinez pair was once again in a bad position... Led 5/2, the Franco-Spanish duo offered themselves a remontada with five points won in a row, to get the first set: 7 / 6 (5).

A burst of pride hit the 4th seed in the second set. Jess Castello and Ale Salazar stepped up a gear, offering Alix and Araceli few opportunities to impose their game, as they had been able to do in the first set, resulting in a clear score of 6/1 in the second set.

The suspense in the third set kept all the spectators present on the edge of their seats. Between breaks and unbreaks, the outcome of the match seemed vague to say the least… However, a final break from the match favourites was fateful, although the Collombon/Martinez pair had two chances to get back to the level of the 4th seed. Despite a beautiful resistance, Alix Collombon and Araceli Martinez finally bowed out...

So there is only one Frenchwoman left in this Rotterdam P1. It is Léa Godallier, accompanied by the Italian Giorgia Marchetti. In all likelihood, they should play the 3rd seed of the tournament: Sofia Araujo et Marta Ortega (except for a surprise today).

It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
