It exists, at 1 meters above sea level, a club where the smash comes out easily, whatever the external conditions. Nestled in the canton of Grisons, Switzerland, Play Tennis, Padel & Squash St. Moritz offers a special gaming experience in an exceptional setting.
The highest covered course in Europe
Installed since three years instead of an old one tennis court, this padel court is the highest permanently covered in Europe. Located at St. Moritz-Bad, in front of the ski area cable car, he benefits from a spacious wooden structure, with a ceiling height exceeding the ten metersThe club, owned by a real estate group, is easily accessible and has a pro shop, a bar and seats for spectators. In addition to the padel court, it has three tennis courts and two squash courts in winter, to which are added two clay courts during the summer.
A friendly and accessible club
Padel is still a secondary discipline there: 80% of practitioners play tennis, 10% squash and 10% padelThe club is managed by Botzjan and Giacomo, two enthusiasts always available to facilitate meetings and the organization of matches: tennis@stmoritz-spa.ch.
The rates are slightly higher than in France, with variations depending on the season. The slots are 60 or 90 minutes, and Giacomo offers training sessions on request, although prices are higher than in France or Spain.
A unique setting and surprising playing conditions
The high altitude significantly changes the dynamics of the game. ball bounces higher, greatly facilitating the PAR 3, while the faster windows, due to the ambient coolness, require rapid adaptation. Players must adjust their lobs, otherwise they will see their balls come out more often than expected.
Padel in Switzerland remains in development, with around 350 plots in 2024, concentrated in large cities. The first club in Geneva opened in 2013, and the offer continues to expand. In St. Moritz, the courts are in high demand from November to April, in particular by the passing tourists and seasonal workers.

Padel and skiing: an ideal combination
To organize your stay, a whatsapp group allows you to anticipate reservations and combine padel and skiing, an ideal combination depending on the weather. The unique padel court requires a rigorous planning in order to guarantee playing slots.
Playing at altitude is a unique experience, both for the setting and the feeling of playing. Winning smashes become accessible to everyone, making each game particularly enjoyable. A trip to St. Moritz thus offers a rare opportunity to combine sport, nature and performance, in an extraordinary environment.
