Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto continue their excellent momentum. A week after their victory in Miami, the world number 2s qualified for a new final by beating Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto with a score of 7/6(2) 6/2 in the semi-final of Santiago Premier Padel P1.
A successful first round
As in their clash in Miami, the match started at a very fast pace. Yanguas and Nieto held their own against their opponents, forcing a tiebreak after a first set without a single break. But as is often the case in major matches, Galán and Chingotto were able to raise their game at the right time. They dominated the deciding game (7-2), imposing their power and technical accuracy to take control of the match.
Galán and Chingotto set sail
The second set confirmed the Spanish-Argentine pair's rise to power. More precise and aggressive, Galán and Chingotto quickly gained the upper hand over Nieto/Yanguas, who were losing momentum. Yanguas's intentions to move his opponents were not enough, and Nieto's liveliness was unable to compensate for the opponent's dominance. The result: a mastered second act (6/2), without ever leaving any real opportunity for return.

A second final in a row
With this victory, Galán and Chingotto reach their ninth final in a P1 tournament, and will try to land a second consecutive title after that of MiamiTheir only title together this season so far. They now have six titles as a pair (1 Major, 2 P1 and 3 P2).
Note that Galán and Chingotto have only lost twice in the semi-finals since their partnership, each time against Yanguas (Kuwait P1 and Mexico Major 2024).
But this time, Pair number 2 perfectly controlled the debates, confirming their status as serious candidates for the world throne. Opposite, Nieto and Yanguas are still chasing a first final on a tournament, but continue to prove that they are capable of competing with the best.
They will find Franco Stupaczuk and Juan Lebrón in the final, for an explosive clash between the two most in-form pairs of the moment.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
