Alix Collombon et Julieta Bidahorria can be proud of the match they delivered on the central track of Santiago Premier Padel P1. If the Franco-Argentinian pair lost at the end of this meeting, it greatly annoyed the world number 1s.
We wondered if we could believe it, to the victory of Julieta and Alix… and we believed it. In the first set, the Franco-Argentinian pair got off to a very bad start. If she won her first service game, she then took lightning Josemaria/Sanchez . Alix and Julieta were led 5/2 on the scoreboard and the numbers 1 were used for the set. However, the outsiders from this part came out a very solid game to pick up at 5/3. Unfortunately, they came from too far and lost this first act of the match, 6/3.
However, what we saw in the penultimate game of the first set was confirmed at the start of the second: Alix Collombon and Julieta Bidahorria entered their match. They broke up very early in the set and were in the lead for a long time. Despite many opportunities to pick up the score, Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez found themselves very bothered by their opponents.
Unfortunately, Alix and Julieta ended up breaking down, so that they were used to glue a sleeve everywhere , at 5/4. A little more physically challenged, they let go of their game... and the one that followed, allowing the world numbers 1 to win in this meeting: 6 / 3 7 / 5.
Despite everything, we will have to remember a lot of positives from this meeting, in particular from the impressive defense shown by the Franco-Argentinian pair! This match is very positive for both players... 10 days of Bordeaux P2 !
It was her brother who one day told her to accompany him to a padel court, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the retransmission of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
