We are only in the semi-finals of this Santiago P1 on this Sunday, the tournament having started a day later than planned in the schedule. Therefore, there will be four meetings to follow today, from 16h (22 p.m. French time).

Semi-finalists heckled among the men

Except Arturo Coello et Agustin Tapia who passed their quarter-final in complete peace, winning 6/2 6/2 against Tello/Belasteguin in 47 short minutes, the other pairs present in the last four had to work hard to reach this stage of the competition.

Indeed, Paquito Navarro et Juan lebron were almost surprised by Alonso/Arroyo. They will have been able to count on their lucky star – and a little misunderstanding between their young opponents – to reach the last four and offer themselves a meeting against Coello/Tapia.

In the other part of the table, these are Franco Stupaczuk et Martin Di Nenno who won against Mike Yanguas and Javi Garrido. A very close meeting between these two teams whose final score was 6/7(5) 7/5 6/4.

Same, the pair Chingalan almost lost the rhythm in the finals against Momo Gonzalez and Alex Ruiz. They had to work hard in the tie-break of the last round to reach the semi-finals: 6/3 5/7 7/6 (6). Lots of regrets for the Gonzalez/Ruiz pair, who did not come far from the feat.

Un Classic among women and a surprise to come

Among the ladies, we will find an encounter which almost resembles a Classic from now on. Ariana Sanchez et Paula Josemaria qualified without too much difficulty yesterday, beating Marta Ortega and Vero Virseda in the quarter-final. Today they will meet Gemma Triay et Claudia fernandez, who passed the Castello/Jensen test during their match.

The surprise to come is therefore in the lower part of the table where we will follow the meeting between young Spanish nuggets, Andrea Ustero et Alejandra Alonso and the veterans of the tournament: Patty Llaguno et Lucia Sainz. An astonishing encounter which results from a massacre among the ladies in this part of the table… but which promises renewal in the final of this Santiago P1!

The meetings should be followed on the Youtube channel Premier Padel !

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
