It's a big surprise on the men's circuit Premier Padel : Sanyo Gutiérrez and Javi Garrido will team up from the Malaga P1 (July 14-20 at Martín Carpena). Two players with strong personalities, reunited after a first half of the year that was a roller-coaster ride for both.

Two paths marked by instability

Javi Garrido had started 2025 with Martín Di Nenno, but the duo did not find the right chemistry and the results did not follow. The Spaniard then tried his luck with Tino Libaak, without success: three defeats at the start of three tournamentss.

La back injury of the young Argentinian (return planned for September) forced Garrido to a temporary solution: Diego Gil in Valladolid, then Tolito Aguirre in Bordeaux next week.

For its part, Sanyo Gutiérrez has already changed partners three times: after Javi leal, he played several tournaments with Alex Chozas (elimination in the first round in Valladolid this week), then he is registered in Bordeaux with Gonza Alfonso…before already looking to the future with Garrido for Malaga.

A pair ranked 11th before Malaga

The duo Sanyo / Garrido totals 4 FIP points, which would make it the 11th pair in the ranking at the moment. Enough to hope for a good draw in the first round and why not an interesting journey in the Andalusian city.

A wave of new associations in Malaga

They won't be the only ones trying a new adventure:

  • Álex Ruiz will team up with Victor Ruiz
  • Maxi Sánchez will play with Xisco Gil
  • Gonza Alfonso et Aris Patiniotis will also join forces

A period of movement that reflects the difficulty some players have in finding the right connection. Garrido and Sanyo, two fiery temperaments, could form an explosive… or volatile cocktail. The answer on the slopes of the Martin Carpena in a few weeks !
