The circuit transfer window Premier Padel is stirring behind the scenes, and a new association could soon see the light of day: Sanyo Gutiérrez, former world number 1, is said to be about to join forces with Alex Chozas.
Their first tournament together could take place as early as P2 of Asuncion, expected from 18 to 25 may.

A natural alliance between two former national team-mates

Sanyo and Chozas had already shared the track in the colors of Argentina during the Doha World Cup 2024, actively participating in the world title of the Albiceleste.

After his separation from Javi leal, Sanyo would be looking to relaunch its season alongside a promising young player. For his part, Álex Chozas, after a short adventure with Álex Ruiz, would see in this association an opportunity to accelerate his rise within the circuit.

A complicated dynamic since the start of the season

If their union is confirmed, it would also be motivated by an urgent need for results. Indeed, Sanyo Gutiérrez et Alex Chozas have for now reached only one quarter-final since the start of the season.
The rest of their journeys were limited to early eliminations in the round of 16 or 16, far from the expected ambitions.
An observation which naturally pushes them to try a new project to reshuffle the cards.

A major turning point in Sanyo's career

At 40 years, Sanyo Gutiérrez would remain one of the most respected players for his tactical intelligence and his knowledge of the game. But recent results have not lived up to his ambitions.
Combining his experience with the freshness of a youngster like Chozas could be the ideal bet to prolong his competitiveness at the highest level.

If the information is confirmed, their complementarity could quickly make them a dangerous pair from their first tournament.

Other movements in preparation

At the same time, other new associations are also expected:

  • Álex Ruiz should evolve alongside Maxi Sánchez.
  • Javi leal would find Fran Guerrero, his former partner.
  • Eduardo Alonso would form a pair with Jairus Baptist, While Lucas Campagnolo would join Nachi Sager, his partner during the final of the Cupra FIP Finals 2023.

I discovered padel directly during a tournament, and frankly, I didn't really like it at first. But the second time, it was love at first sight, and since then, I haven't missed a single match. I'm even ready to stay up until 3am to watch a final of Premier Padel !
