 "I think that depending on the track conditions, they can be very good... but if the track is slow, they can become just an average pair."

Sanyo did not hesitate to separate the trajectories of the two players.

First, total praise for  Juan Lebrón  :
 "He is one of the greatest talents in the history of padel." 

Augsburger, however, does not receive the same treatment:
 "He's a player who's improving, but in my opinion, he still needs to do quite a bit to be considered a top player." 

Then comes the compliment that changes everything:
 "He's very driven, he's a true winner. Regardless of the statistics, he steps onto the track convinced he's going to win, and that makes him very good."

The course of  Lebrón / Augsburger  Acapulco confirmed point by point the Mago's statements:

  •  Solid start  against Hernández / Collado (6/3 6/4), in fast conditions where their aggressive game hit the mark.
  •  A completely different match  in the round of 16 against  Garrido / Campagnolo , on a slower track.
    Result: they narrowly avoided elimination with a match won 7/6 in the third set.
  • Then  imperial in quarters  against Barahona / García (6/2 6/2).

Their power was no longer doing as much damage, Augsburger showed more limitations from the baseline, and the Spaniard had to compensate to keep the pair afloat.

But in the clutch, Leo raised his game exactly as Sanyo described: a player who  refuses to lose .

Sanyo has sparked a debate.
Mexico Major responds point by point. Now, following their victory against Barahona/Garcia in the quarterfinals, everyone is waiting for the semifinal against Galan/Chingotto to see what they are capable of against one of the best pairs in the world.
