Like every Thursday, Julien discusses subjects padel that allow you to be more efficient. This week, in this video, discover the work of the defense, to be done alone on the half of the pitch. A very good exercise for learning to play balls close to the side window and close to the grid.

Let's play on half the pitch, but on its width. A land of padel measuring 20 meters X 10 meters, playing on the width will correspond to playing in front of a person on the fly.

The goal of this training is to learn how to defend by playing bullets on the volleyball players to fix them, force them to play a volley a little less effective and then send them back to the bottom of the field and take our turn Attack on the net.

How does it work ?

At the bottom of the field, you will play on the side windows. If you play in one direction, you will work the forehand, and in the other direction you will work the reverse. The idea is that you hit your balls between you and the window, teaching you to get closer to the lateral limits of the field during your games.

Two ways to play

  • The first, in a direct way. I hit the ball, it bounces on the glass, I play it without letting it pass. Here we will seek the precision, the taking of marks with respect to the side window.
  • The second, more complicated, I hit the ball harder to bounce on the glass behind me and play a way out of the window. In this case, we will accelerate the footwork to properly position, accelerate forward to give more speed to the ball.

See you next week for a new tutorial padel.
