The first results are coming in from the French players present at the  FIP Gold Gran Canaria  In Spain, the French results remain mixed after this first round. We will still find  three French pairs in the second round tonight,  two for men and one for women.

Seurin/Vives in 3 sets

 Manuel Vives (244th) and Julien Seurin   (161e)  imposed themselves against  Alfaro/Fuertes  in three sets  6/3 3/6 6/4  in a tense match from start to finish. The French took  the advantage in the third set, leading 5/3  and even having a match point before being broken. Finally, a simple alert allowed them to  take over their opponents' service and conclude the match at 6/4.  At the end of the meeting,  joy and relief for both players  who have dug deep mentally to get their qualification.

Thanks to this victory,  Seurin and Vives  find themselves facing the number 2 seed,  Dominguez/Perino,  respectively 75th and 74th in the world this evening around 21 p.m.

Raichman/Hugounenq stopped in the first round

For  Philemon Raichman (181st) and Arthur Hugounenq (244th),  The day was more complicated. They were eliminated by  Joel Olivera (158th) and Christian Fuster   (170e)  in two sets 6/3 7/6. Surely tired by their last qualifying match,  finished late the day before , they failed to find the rhythm needed to overturn their opponents.
