  • How did you get started in padel ?

My parents bought the tennis club (100% private) in 1993 and it became difficult if not impossible to live only from this activity, without any subsidy and subject to the same taxes as any other company.

So, my father being a tennis instructor, was brought in to do the training padel last spring with the club's second instructor and they were thrilled by this sport. Besides the obvious playful side and its accessibility to the greatest number, the spirit of padel corresponded to the type of game advocated by our club (forward, on the fly, and priority to creativity and play).

Suddenly, my father decided to diversify the activity of the club with the hope of reviving the activity and an indoor tennis court was replaced by a tennis court. padel and two badminton courts.

For my part, I made myself available to the public service to try to make these new activities coincide with a new start for the club (and therefore society) and work with my parents, bringing added value to the management of the bar. , entertainment and the daily life of the club.

With a few months of hindsight, the bet is winning!

  • A report on the launch of this activity since last September?

Despite the lack of notoriety of this game, we are satisfied with the first months of activity.

A hard core of a good twenty regular players, expanded to another twenty more occasional, the land is rented between 20 and 30 hours per week on average.

The almost universal enthusiasm of the new players at the exit of the field makes us confident for the future.

We organized two evenings around the padel and a P100 tournament and we quickly noticed the limits and constraints of having only one field for this kind of event.

  • The next fields will arrive when?

We hope for next September. This involves covering one of our two outdoor courts to keep two tennis courts covered, essential for the tennis school and team matches. We want to go directly to three fields of padel to be able to develop these evenings and tournaments.

  • When will the school of padel ?

Since the opening we offer a discovery formula for beginners, individual courses and teen courses during the holidays.

We will offer a school of padel year-round from next September if the land is there.

With a question about the number of people interested

  • Events of padel planned?

A second P100 18 24 June with the hens on weekdays depending on the availability of players, classification games on Saturday and final and small final on Sunday, day of the annual barbecue season end.

In addition, in September, we are thinking about a large-scale event to celebrate the 50 years of the club, half of which are held by my parents. Either an exhibition match with known players or a P1000 to attract the greatest players.
