According to the latest official figures, French padel has just reached the 73 699 classified. A record which also reveals the control of four regions over the rest of the country…

First of all, men today represent a very large part of the competitors in France with 63 875 individuals, or 87% of the total. Both sexes follow a similar growth rate (+4% over the last month), even if parity is still far from being achieved.

On a regional scale, we realize that four leagues stand out. L'Occitania largely dominates the debates with 14 classified, the equivalent of one in five people in France. She is ahead of New Aquitaine (9), the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (9) and theAuvergne-Rhône-Alpes (7). These regions alone concentrate… 58,7% of the total proportion! An impressive figure that shows how popular padel is in the south.

Behind the behemoths, theIle-de-France ranks fifth (6). The other leagues then have a serious delay which, we hope, will be made up over time. Note that territories outside mainland France (Réunion/Mayotte, New Caledonia, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, etc.) account for 4,01%.

Will padel manage to become fashionable everywhere in France? In any case, we are seeing real progress since a few months…

It was through his father that Auxence discovered padel, one evening in June 2016. Today, he passionately follows the international circuit and teases the pala in his training club, Toulouse Padel Club. You can also find it on La Feuille de Match and LesViolets.com, two specialist media on Toulouse Football Club.
