Dominant on the field, Arturo Coello et Agustín Tapia also cultivate a solid agreement off the track. An often underestimated but essential dimension to understanding the longevity and consistency of the world's number one duo.
Since joining forces, Coello and Tapia have embodied one of the most successful partnerships in modern padel. Four Seasons collaboration three years spent at the top and a persistent impression: that of a duo as formidable in sports as they are balanced on a human level.
Guest on the podcast of Maica Cabeza , partner of Arturo Coello and sister of Curro Cabeza , winner of P2 de Gijón 2025 The Spanish player reflected on the evolution of his relationship with his Argentinian partner.
A very different organization than in their early days
Coello specifically mentioned how their daily life on the circuit has evolved.
In the early days of their partnership, travel was much more minimalist. The two players traveled primarily alone, sometimes accompanied by members of the staff such as Gustavo Pratto ou Martín Crosetti . An almost total proximity.
They spent their days together from beginning to end, even down to the simplest logistics: they regularly shared the same room during tournaments.

Today, the professional structure has expanded considerably.
Each player travels with their own entourage, a practice that has become standard at the highest level. This evolution reflects both the transformation of professional padel and the maturity of the players.
Foundational memories
Arturo Coello also revisited a key moment in their journey: May 2023 .
In Vigo, the pair won the final of the World Padel Tour face Galan / Lebron , a victory that allowed them to reach the top spot for the first time world number one A memorable experience on many levels.
Coello describes an atmosphere very different from today's, marked by an almost familial conviviality. Hotel rooms became true places of collective living, where staff and players shared long moments off the field.
“We were almost like cousins,” he confided, in essence.
A relationship that has grown with them
Looking back, Coello clearly identifies that first season as a unique period. A phase of discovery, mutual learning, and also of carefree youth. The two players, still very young, were building both their game and their relationship. But time naturally altered the balance.
“We were younger, almost children,” Coello sums up. “Today, we are more mature, and the relationship is much better.”
A logical evolution for a pair permanently established at the top, where emotional stability becomes as crucial as athletic performance.
At the highest level, victories are not solely based on technical or tactical skill. The exceptional longevity of Tapia and Coello can also be explained by this. alchemy Built up over the seasons. A relationship that has evolved from the spontaneity of the beginning to a more mature complicity.
And in an increasingly demanding circuit, this balance remains one of the major foundations of their dominance.
