World No. 1s  Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello  won this Saturday in the semi-final of Madrid P1 against  Mike Yanguas and Coki Nieto  (6/2 7/5). A controlled victory which opens the doors to a  third consecutive final in Madrid .

A first set without discussion

The match began with Yanguas's feverish smash, immediately punished by Tapia and Coello's counterattacks, who broke at 2/1. Behind, Tapia took the lead. Ruthless in his diagonal, irresistible on the smash, he tipped the set. Coello, a little less sharp, was carried by his partner. Double break, conclusion 6/2: the number 1s sent a clear message.

More opposition in the second act

At the change of ends, Yanguas woke up. More inspired in his smashes, more physically intense, he managed to make the Spanish-Argentine pair doubt themselves. Nieto resisted the pressure well and the outsiders hung on until 5/4. They even saved a match point, but finally cracked in the next game: two winning smashes and two incisive volleys sealed the outcome. Victory 6/2 7/5 in 1h23.

The numbers speak

Tapia and Coello largely dominated the match with  50 winning points against 27 , and above all without conceding the slightest break point in the second set. An additional sign of strength for a pair who will aim for their  10th final of the 2025 season , the  7th in a row , and his  27th joint title .

Madrid, their hunting ground

Already crowned champions in the capital in 2023 and 2024, Tapia and Coello confirm their status as kings in Madrid. On the way to a  third final in a row in Madrid's P1 , they never seemed to waver despite the resistance of Yanguas and Nieto.
