Tapia and Coello continue their victories. Considered the world's first pair, the Spanish-Argentine duo continues to break records and, for the moment, has let few sets slip away.
After every match, the two players congratulate each other, saying that they are “brothers” and that they are a real “team.” But if by “team” we mean a pair that can overcome difficult moments, it remains to be seen whether this dynamic will withstand the tests, right?
Remember: during the few difficulties encountered at the beginning of the year, Tapia and Coello had shown signs of tension, particularly on the side of Agustin Tapia, who, on the field, was not always the ideal partner. Remember Rome in the final, where the Argentinian had not necessarily been a model teammate…
Tapia has also shown honesty in publicly acknowledging that he could do better as a teammate.
Since September, however, Coello is probably the best player in the world. The holidays seem to have transformed him; he has never been better. Together, the two players are winning without fail. So, can we really call them a real team? Waves will inevitably come; this will be the ultimate test to measure whether this pair can last as long as the legendary Bela / Juan Martin Diaz duo.
