The weight per team at padel is the basis. We must always reason collectively and not individually.

However until 2019, during French approved competitions, the P100 and P250 were prohibited for the top French players.

The French top 100 (men) could not, for example, participate in P250 tournaments.

But in the new regulation of padel updated by the French Tennis Federation, we no longer find any trace of these bans. This brings us closer to what is done in Spain.

The FFT therefore introduced the concept of team weight. A novelty which is good news for our sport.

Minimum weight of the pair for men:

  • P25: 4000 or more
  • P100: 1000 or more
  • P250: 400 or more
  • Open for the rest of the categories.

Minimum pair weight for ladies:

  • P25: 400 or more
  • P100: 200 or more
  • Open for the rest of the categories.

For example: The number one French could participate in a P25 of his club, but with a player ranked beyond the 3999th French place.
