A first experience : a diagonal with a high-performing partner, not very talkative, tireless, but who does the job.

It doesn't have a first name yet, but it was created by a Swedish company with a algorithm dedicated to padel. The Ball Machine is not aimed at beginners because, obviously, it does not correct a bad move or bad positioning on the track.

We can start practicing on the standard settings in 5 minutes, but it takes a good hour to properly understand it. use and his setting. The machine is managed by a application to download, with a connection Bluetooth. It is a little heavy, but it moves easily to be positioned in the center of the field, against the back glass. It can hold about 250 balls.

Test: the Ball Machine

A complete and intuitive application

The application offers many features with the main moves and multiple possibilities of variations:

  • Effects,
  • Power,
  • Sequences,
  • Options for mixing workshops such as:
    • Return of service,
    • Flight,
    • Lob,
    • Flight,
    • smash

However, it is recommended to program the machine before rental, because session creation can be done offline Bluetooth, with a clear head, to launch the workshops directly once on the ground.

In use: effective but could be improved

When using, the workshop flight is particularly effective and fun. However, for training at the baseline, whether forehand or backhand, the balls are not sent quickly enough. Even with the minimum setting of Time, the wait between two shots can be long.

On the other hand, the machine is capable of sending powerful shots very close to the net, even if, sometimes, it makes mistakes... too!

For specific shots at paddle, once the right setting is found, we can work efficiently:

  • Viper,
  • Bandeja,
  • Descent,
  • Defense after windows,
with variations on a large quantity of balls.

The challenge remains… to collect the 200 balls after training!
