One of the specificities of the competitions of padel in France is the NO AD system in a game. Tied: Decisive point. Frédéric RICHEME, JAT at Tennis / Padel Club de Pau returns to this famous NO AD which makes us tremble so much.

It's blurry, we fall for it! But why such pressure! What puts us in this state?

THE DECISIVE POINT

Many players from tennis do not support this format of play and yet in many formulas, it is the NO AD game or game without advantage, or even said decisive point, which is compulsory.

What does the competition guide tell us Padel :

“As of this sporting year 2017, five game formats can be used in Padel, but under certain conditions (see below - Tournament Categories).

Long formats:

  • 1 format: 2 sets to 6 games (traditional format)
  • 2 format: 2 sets to 6 games, 3em and super decisive game to 10 points
  • 4 format: 2 sets to 6 games, no ad, 3em and super decisive game to 10 points

Short formats:

  • 6 format: 2 sets to 4 games, no ad, decisive game to 3 / 3, 3th and super decisive game to 10 pts
  • 9 format: 1 set to 9 games, no ad, decisive game to 7 points to 8 / 8

All matches count for a full match, coefficient 1. ”page 9

In other words 3 formats on 5 allowed in competition must be played NO AD. So I advise all players to make a maximum training match in No AD, to resist this pressure.

It is by force of training that one removes this mental lock which blocks with 40A.

And besides, it is the raisers who decide on the service side. Most often, the pair validates the best turner.

The regulations are not chosen by the referees, there is no point in begging them for the possibility of playing with advantage on formats 4, 6 and 9. And as a reminder, you do not play tennis but in padel then we have to accept the alternative regulations.

Good Padel to all !
