The many figures mentioned in thesurvey on padel carried out by Monitor Deloitte and Playtomic are very interesting to analyze. Today we will focus on the expansion and future of padel in the Scandinavian countries.

In Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway, padel is experiencing considerable growth. Compared to other European countries, the Scandinavian countries are not yet the best served in terms of padel courts or clubs, but they are the ones where growth is the strongest.

Indeed, in Sweden, from 2019 to 2021, the number of padel clubs increased by 320%. In Denmark by 400%, in Finland by 410% and in Norway by more than 540%! Regarding the courts, once again, the percentages of increase from 2019 to 2021 are impressive with 388% for Sweden, 581% for Finland, 380% for Denmark and 867% for Norway. For comparison, in France, over the same period, the number of clubs and courts increased by 181 and 54% respectively.

This growth in the Scandinavian countries is obviously verified by the considerable investments made for this sport. Sweden is the country that has mobilized the most financially in the last two years for padel: more than 80 million euros have been devoted to the creation of tracks alone (purchase and assembly of the court). At the same time, Finland has spent around 16,5 million euros, Denmark nearly 12 million euros and Norway 5,5 million euros.

At this rate, the Scandinavian countries will quickly catch up with their European counterparts in terms of infrastructure dedicated to padel!
