La International Federation of Padel (FIP) announces the creation of the FIP Euro Padel Cup, a new continental team competition that succeeds the European Padel Championships. This development project aims to adapt the tournament format to the growing demand for participation from European nations. Thanks to the collaboration of the national federations and Padel Europe, the FIP aims to integrate a greater number of countries in a context of exceptional growth of padel worldwide, and more specifically in Europe. This initiative aims to offer a greater number of athletes the opportunity to compete at the international level under the colours of their national team.

A new format for international expansion

The President of the FIP, Luigi Carraro, emphasizes that “the FIP Euro Padel Cup is a symbol of the rise of padel and a response to a growing demand”. According to him, “this event is the result of a development strategy implemented in recent years to gradually expand the scope of padel as a global phenomenon“He emphasizes “the key role of national federations, who have contributed to the growth of this sport in many countries and to the elevation of technical level competitions”. This development has made it necessary to overhaul existing formats, particularly for the 14th edition of the European Championships. The FIP Euro Padel Cup thus represents a new page in the history of padel, with the desire to offer a unique experience to players wearing the jersey of their national team.

A 40-team tournament and a three-phase competition

The 2025 edition of the FIP Euro Padel Cup will gather 40 men's teams and 40 women's teams and will take place in three distinct phasesThe first two stages will take place from 7 to 13 July on the same site.

  • First phase (day 1 to day 4) : the lowest ranked national teams will compete to win one of the four qualifying places for the second phase.
  • Second phase (day 5 to day 7) : ranked teams from 5th to 16th place au European ranking will enter the competition, with the aim of qualifying for the final phase.
  • Final phase : the four teams from the second phase will join the four best European nations - Spain, Italy, Portugal and France – already qualified automatically. These eight teams will be divided into two groups of four, from which the four semi-finalists.

Ce new format was designed for promote broader participation, while ensuring more intense competition and a high level show for the public. The FIP Euro Padel Cup is thus part of a dynamic of sustainable development of padel and aims to meet the expectations of FIP member federations, ever more numerous in wanting to register their teams in a prestigious competition.
