For both ladies and gentlemen, the FFT regulations require selectors to take from the France team the 4 finalists of the French Championships of padel.

This means that we will have at the ladies Collombon / Ginier and Godallier / Martin. For the men, Blanqué / Bergeron and Tison / Maigret. Whatever happens, these 8 players were going to be selected in view of their very good season. So nothing exceptional for the moment.

The question is: Which players to complete the team ladies and gentlemen.

Ladies: 3 pairs and 2 jokers?

For the ladies, it seems obvious to us to put a 3rd selected pair: Clergue / Ligi. These two players have a very good year. Laura Clergue offers us a great padel for many months. Confidence has returned and it shows on the pitch. Fiona Ligi is one of the players who has improved the most over the past two years. In our opinion, she has become a player to be bet on. First because in the game, it is level and then also it allows Captain Patrick Fouquet to bet on young shoots.

What about the 4th pair of ladies. In reality it all depends on Mai Vo's state of form. At the French championships of padel this weekend, she showed that she clearly lacked playing time on the field. The coach will certainly take the Feaugas / Vo pair if they are reassuring and say they are 100% ready. A luxury joker who could even play in place of 2 or 3 on the coach's scoresheets.

Suppose Mai Vo is not yet restored to 100%. it gets complicated!

There are many people who can claim the last two places. Patrick Fouquet showed in the past that he was always ready to break pairs, especially for the 7e and 8e players since he would start with 3 pairs established on paper.

We think of the Vandaele / Soubrié pair, which showed some very nice things this year. Nevertheless, she also showed that she could flinch mentally. According to us, Patrick Fouquet could be tempted to break the pair and take Marianne Vandaele who has the advantage of being able to play both sides, she already has experience in the France team and has been playing for some time now. Charlotte Soubrié is obviously a very good player, but he still lacks something especially in defense to perhaps delight the heart of Patrick Fouquet.

And then how not to talk about Audrey Casanova, a player on the right who has done great service to the team France. More offensive than before, she has matured. Carol Ann Lovera on the left is obviously a talented player. But at his post, there is a lot of competition.

Hence in 4th pair: Vandaele / Casanova (or Feaugas). Marianne that we would replace on the left for the occasion. A solid pair in defense to try to secure a point.

We think inevitably to Géraldine Sorel too. Experienced right-winger, a gorgeous girl that the group likes to have with you. it counts a lot in a group.

Kristina Clement, who can play on both sides. But we know that Captain Patrick Fouquet will not opt for this choice. The competition is very fierce at all positions.

Thomas Leygue is largely capable of playing on the right even though he is most often seen playing on the left. He also has very good defense. His Achilles heel, his big fluctuations in the game.
