Many of you send us messages for explanations on different elements around the padel. This time, we will respond to Florian from Nice concerning the windows of the padel which can snap / shatter and even suddenly explode.

In general, the thickness of a window is 10 mm. It can go up to 12 mm. In outdoor, and even more in areas where there can be violent storms, it is advisable to opt for 12 mm, even if it costs a little more.

The differences are not huge between these thicknesses, and in Spain, the majority of club clubs were built with 10mm glass. But it is an additional security.

In Nice and its surroundings, the standards for building a padel for example are more drastic than elsewhere.

The wind is the first culprit of any breakages: Indeed, the wind can sometimes rush into the ground and telescope frontally with the back walls. There is a parachute effect which thus accentuates the power of the wind.

The brutal loads of the players on windows can also be the cause of a broken window. However, for several years, cases of broken glass have become increasingly rare thanks to new methods of manufacturing glass. But we never stay 100% safe, the proof in pictures.
