Reunion was formed in padel 2 weeks ago at the club Padel Ekwalis. Mika Grenier, the founder of the club wanted to launch the club on the path of training padel in order to eventually offer courses and internships padel. He appealed to Padel Tennis Academy.

Mika GRENIER, manager PADEL EKWALIS:

In order to continue to structure the 1st club of padel from Reunion Island, I contacted Padel Tennis Academy and Cédric CARITE. My feelings and that of the other trainees present after an intense week of pedagogical training: exhausted and delighted!

In one week, we followed a pedagogy in constant adaptation to the realities of teaching tennis and tennis. padel, with the concrete demonstrations linked to it.

Beside that I had asked Cedric to bring his knowledge of high level for my players and competition players: to train them and make them feel the necessary rigor. After informing them of his arrival, they were many to answer present to live his formations.

Cédric CARITE talks about padel in Réunion and its development

Currently, Mickael GRENIER manages Padel Ekwalis, the only club in Reunion. He must be congratulated for bringing this activity to the island and helping it develop: since then, several projects have been in the pipeline.

Since there are a lot of players in the tournaments, I was asked to come and train tennis teachers to train them to teach tennis. padel in order to continue to support practitioners with lessons and training.

Throughout my stay, I was able to measure the same craze as in metropolitan France and also the needs in structuring the practice: club accompaniment, accompaniment of trainers, and accompaniment of the best players.

I was very pleasantly surprised to see a large number of players coming to the tournament with a profile of tennis competitors, including many champions from France and among the best in the world of beach tennis.

Personally, I was also very happy to come back to Reunion Island after 18 years, to share these 2 training sessions with superb people, and to bring my little stone to the blossoming of padel on the island.

Thanks to Mika for this beautiful adventure.
