The French Tennis Federation is pleased to announce that the National Tennis Cup, the biggest amateur tournament in France, is becoming an FFT event, just like the National Padel Cup

The president of the FFT, Gilles Moretton, and Christophe Lesage, the co-founder of the National Tennis Cup recently signed an agreement allowing this event to integrate the bosom of the federal government.

Created in 1988, this event recorded almost a million official matches, and 3 tournaments. Over the years, it has thus become a real institution combining sport and conviviality. The success of this event is based on a unique concept of tournament by ranking, designating each year a winner in each table from unclassified to 2/6, for women and men. The particularly festive atmosphere of this event also contributes to its reputation.

The qualifying phases of the 2022 edition have started in around a hundred clubs. The final phases, meanwhile, will take place during the autumn holidays at the international tennis center of Cap d'Agde on more than 30 courts. On the program: a week of competition but also many activities with in particular a village of partners of 5000 m2, bars and restaurants, themed evenings…

Le padel will also be honored since the National Padel Cup will offer three FFT-approved tournaments in the P100, P250 and P1000 categories.

Gilles Moretton, President of the FFT, said: « The FFT is proud to take over the management and organization of the biggest amateur tournament in the world, a competition format unique in France, which has proven itself for more than thirty years and whose success continues year after year. . We hope to promote this tournament, which is above all festive and friendly, throughout France and to attract even more participating clubs. Especially since the padel will also be honored ».
