Gianfranco Nirdaci, President of the Padel Committee of the Italian Tennis Federation (FederTennis) returned to the Padel European Championships in Rome, but also and especially the possibility to see the padel enter the Olympic family.
The padel at the Olympic Games is possible even if there is still some way to go. We need to work with the main players in the sport, including Luigi Carraro, to move forward and see what can be done. The padel needs an architect to see this sport enter the Olympic family. And Luigi is one of those architects.
For the padel at the Olympic Games, it takes time. But we are already working with FIP and its partners to see if the padel can speed up the pace. We could already be at the European Games and why not see the padel join other major sporting events.
There is nothing missing padel. In fact, with these European paddle championships, the padel shows all its strength. We are on the right path.
Franck Binisti discovers the padel at the Pyramid Club in 2009 in the Paris region. Since then padel is part of his life. You often see him touring France by going to cover the big French paddle events.
