The prefectural decrees follow and resemble each other. In Gironde, from Saturday and for 15 days, “Lsports halls and gymnasiums, except for school or extracurricular use, party and multipurpose rooms for festive or associative use”Will close.

Information that fell in late afternoon and that the speaker and player of padel Arnaud Saurois.

The clubs will have to close their doors on Saturday

The prefecture was particularly clear and the consequences will be complicated for our indoor sports complexes who offer padel : the closure awaits them this Saturday for at least 2 weeks.

Last night, Mind Padel also announced the closure through the referee, consultant and one of the actors of the padel French, Jérôme Bécasset. Direct consequence : the Spirit League Padel by Advenis - Masters Season 2 scheduled for this weekend has been postponed to a later date.

It is with a heavy heart that all of the club's teams are sending you this message through me ...

The dreaded decision came less than an hour ago.

The Rhône prefecture prohibits any gathering of more than 10 people and forces all public and private sports halls to be closed for two weeks from 15 a.m. on Saturday September 6.

The mixed tournament which is currently ending will therefore be the only one that can be played this weekend.

We are taking this decision with a heavy heart, but also with full awareness of our responsibilities. The padel remains a sport and should never put anyone at risk for their health.

We therefore give you an appointment in 2 weeks, we hope, for other moments of conviviality and shared pleasure around the tracks of our favorite game.

The government explained that it would reverse the aids that it will bring to the structures affected by its new directives. But, if there is a health emergency according to some scientific experts when others consider that these guidelines are disproportionate, it is the financial health of clubs who will take another hit ...

Late cancellation of P2000 du Toulouse Padel Club

Alain Tison, fan of padel, does not understand this so rapid decision of the prefects which thus implies cancellation of P2000 Toulouse Padel Club :

The prefect waits for Monday to change the hours of bars and restaurants, but sees an urgent need to close the sports arenas, overnight.

You can go to the cinema but not in a center where the distance is not one meter, but ten.

Students are treated as irresponsible at festive evenings but work in overcrowded lecture halls.

I do not understand anything anymore.

Concerning the P2000, the players have found yesterday at the club, the qualifications took place. We understand that we have to choose a date, but was there more risk this Saturday than there was the day before? Was it not possible to let the competition end ?

A solution was possibly possible: Play all matches on Saturday. was this legally possible? It would also have taken a consensus between all the players. Was this option raised early enough to anticipate any negative decisions from the prefecture on Friday?

The FFT too slow?

Why did the FFT not warn the community of the padel earlier of the cancellation of the padel ? Indeed, the decisions and prefectural orders in France fell in the afternoon overall and around 19h for the Haute Garonne. We ourselves communicated in the early evening on the orders of the prefects.

We had asked the FFT for information on whether or not to continue the competition. She has remained silent and has no press release to date.

The players could have gone home on Friday or even not come to Toulouse Padel Club if the FFT had communicated as soon as the decisions of the prefect of Haute-Garonne were broadcast.

In addition to the decisions of the prefect, the delays of the FFT to formalize the cancellation. It's hard. And by their sole fault, it costs us more money than we expected.

we explain many players.

Alexandre Lerustre, the 54th Frenchman, is scandalized: “It's complicated for everyone. And it is terrible for the economy of padel. But the FFT should have been much faster in decision-making and avoided waiting until the last moment. We received an email at 21:39 p.m. It is nonsense ! She does not respect the players. Good luck to the clubs for the future."

The FFT obviously undergoes this event and we imagine that it would obviously have preferred a happier sequel. Despite everything, we are surprised at time it takes to communicate with players and fans on not maintaining the competition.

Faster communication would have allowed many players to avoid spending money on transport or in a hotel night.

The drop too much?

Containment has already been very hard for many clubs. We hope that this will not be too much financial drop for clubs in padel. Behind the financial crisis which could hover for some of them, they are also situations of enormous stress which could weigh on the physical health this time of the entrepreneurs and employees.

Anyway, in view of 150 deaths attributed to Covid-19 in France this Friday, figures equivalent to those of mid-March, it is understandable that the Government is taking measures to prevent the situation from getting out of hand. Let us hope that all these efforts will not have been made in vain, and that we can very quickly find a normal life, based on padel, tournaments, and outings with friends.

Good luck to everyone.
