Kristina Clément, player of padel since 2007, winner of the Masters France of padel in 2012 and 2013 and finish 3e at the Team World Cup in Cancun in 2012 gives us his impressions of the development of the padel female.

Strong growth

It is a sport experiencing strong growth throughout the world. The padel is an ideal racquet sport for women of all profiles: sportsmen and women alike, the gifted or those who consider themselves “non-gifted” with a “classic” racquet in hand.

Spain, our country padel benchmark, with 4 million participants, proves it to us: there are AS MANY women as men on the courts!

Accessibility, social, fitness and fun!

Why ? The explanation can be summed up in a few words: accessibility, social, fitness and fun!

Unlike tennis, squash or badminton, to start as a pure novice, the padel does not require to acquire a great technique or to have the physique of a marathon runner to learn to play and have fun.

In less than an hour, a beginner accompanied by a coach can make exchanges and have fun and even start using the back wall for the most comfortable.

The racket padel, by its small size and without string, is much more manageable than other rackets and becomes like an extension of its own hand. The short of padel, half the size of a tennis court, makes it easier to pass the ball over the net and without the need to run a long distance between each strike (let's not forget that we also have a partner by our side!) . Certain sports can put off women for their difficulty ... this is certainly not the case with padel !

A sharing sport

We women also like to meet up with friends to chat and share some activities ...

Le padel is recognized for its social aspect: playing doubles, on a small court with priority not to the score and the competition, but the conviviality, the sharing of good moments with the paella / barbecue at the edge of the court for the lucky ones… How don't like this sport?

For lodgers, then sport is for you. We must admit the gentlemen are very good at this level.

Burner calories

Who said the padel did not burn calories? Even Gaël Monfils himself explained to us recently “ that it was a physical sport ».

Because casually, the padel is more intense than tennis. We waste less time looking for balls on the court and rallies last longer.

Another shocking argument for us women, always in search of the perfect line: We estimate the expenditure between 400 to 600 calories for an hour played.

Each week, new courts of padel are installed across France, and we are passionate about padel, let's hope that this craze will affect women as in Spain! Vamos!
