The last report of Playtomic is merciless: 90% of padel players attend several clubs to practice their sport. Conversely, we know that tennis players tend to stay and play on the courts of the club to which they are registered.
There are several reasons for this trend. For starters, there simply aren't enough padel courts. France is not the worst off country, with 33,6 courts per 1 million inhabitants, but other countries are less, such as United Kingdom and its 7,2 courts per million inhabitants. To be able to play, attending only one club is no longer possible, particularly during rush hours. Players must therefore move around in order to find a free court.
Then comes the difficulty of finding playing partners. By attending several clubs, players mechanically increase the probability of finding other available players with a similar level. This allows them to more easily organize their matches andimprove their level.
Finally, the report shows that no less than 59% of padel players do it for thesocial aspect. Playing in several clubs therefore also allows them to broaden their social circle while integrating different communities.
It should be noted that 88% of players are ready to move to another neighborhood, or even another city, to practice their sport. And among the 90% who attend several clubs, 37% of total players travel to no less than eight clubs.
