That's it, the World Padel Tour announced it. 2020 will be the year of the setting up of the “punto de Oro” in the various tournaments of the season.

A news that may appeal to some and displease others. The “punto de Oro”, the “No Ad” or the “golden point” appears on the professional circuit.

For the World Padel Tour it is a logical continuation of evolution and adaptation to the current game. It all started a few years ago with the modification of the tracks, then the carpets, and today it´s the score.

For those who have never heard of the “punto de oro”, this is clearly the abolition of the advantage. When the score is 40/40, the turners will be able to choose the side to play a single point which will proclaim the winners of the game.

At the time when the padel is played more and more quickly, with big hitters who are able to shorten the points, the “punto de oro” is likely to accelerate it even more.

Whether you are for or against, you can give your opinion, but for 2020 it is like that and it will be implemented from Marbella in March.
