Le padel is a sport that is growing more and more. But do you know where the padel is growing the fastest in Europe? In Spain, in France, in Portugal? Well no ! Sweden is the country where the padel develops the most. Many sites are being built (the Padel Zenter by Zlatan Ibrahimovic for example), and of course the number of players is increasing rapidly.

The way to practice padel in Sweden

In Sweden, most of the players come from other racket sports like tennis or badminton so there is a certain rejection of wall play at the beginning for beginners. With a few adaptation sessions, it is obvious to take control of the environment, and all players manage to play the game. padel " normally ". We can equate this to France, where most players today come from other racket sports, especially tennis.

Another side of padel is its social influence, this sport brings together people from different backgrounds, or quite simply between friends. This is a real part of this sport, where for example, it is very common (whether in Spain or France) to stay with your playing partners after the game for a moment of conviviality around a glass. However, in Sweden it is not the same. It's not written in their genes. Indeed, the Swedes are quite stressed people, with a very tight schedule, and can only very rarely stay after a match. padel.

The evolution of padel in Sweden

Le padel in Sweden is experiencing a very strong growth rate. The number of courts continues to increase, in 2013 there were around forty courts, in 2015 the number increased to 90, and there are still projects in progress which are just waiting to be established. A little anecdote for tennis fans, the first tennis court padel settled in Sweden was installed in Bastad, location of the ATP tennis tournament, in 2009.

In addition, Sweden has a Federation of Padel which therefore only manages this sport. Clubs padel Swedes seem to like the Federation since it is clearly supported by all the clubs.

Important point to note: The clubs of padel Swedish are mostly private.

Finally, the brands which are one of the major players in the development of a sport, in general, are particularly present on the Swedish market. For example, Adidas brands Padel, Justten or even Bullpadel  have managed to sponsor some Swedish players. BULLPADEL succeeded quite a bit by being present in almost all the clubs of the country. The tennis brands that have expanded their range to padel are also very present, because they already have the network, logistics, knowledge of the local market (Babolat, Wilson, Head, Dunlop).
