Last night, Franco Stupaczuk et Martin Di Nenno suffered their sixth defeat in a row against Fede Chingotto et Alejandro galan. A match lost in two sets, 6/2 6/4, where the two Argentinians only submitted to the law of Chingalan… once again.

A complicated start to the season

It's almost the start of the season nightmarish for one of the fittest pairs at the end of the 2023 season. Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno, who shook the world number 1s last year, are having a catastrophic start to the season: only one final in ten tournaments played…and zero titles at present.

Obviously, given the quality of their end of the 2023 season, we expected to see the superpibes at its highest this year. Only, after four months of competition, we have the impression that Stupa and Di Nenno are totally overwhelmed by their main opponents : Galan / Chingotto and Coello / Tapia.

No victory against these two pairs this season. There may be an explanation for Chingalan because, this pair being relatively recent, it always takes time to adapt…and that’s completely normal! On the other hand, facing the world number 1s, we believed that the superpibes had found the solution to beat them… which is not the case at the moment!

Excluded from the race for first place?

During the Qatar Major, Franco Stupaczuk spoke to our microphone telling us that: “If we do the same season as last year, we can get the number 1 spot.” However, the Argentines seem to be starting too far this season to be able to claim the first step of the podium. Not content with being without a title, they also inherited a fall in the rankings, with the new mode of ranking of the FIP.

Obviously, nothing smiles on Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno.

However, there should be no mistake, the Argentinians nonetheless remain two of the best players in the world. If that hadn't been the case, they probably wouldn't have won so many titles last season! However, this season, the superpibes do not seem to be racing for first place, unlike Chingalan.

Of course, we only hope for one thing, that Martin Di Nenno and Franco Stupaczuk regain confidence this season, to come and annoy the two ogres of the circuit: Coello / Tapia and Chingotto / Galan.

Gwenaelle Souyri

It was his brother who one day told him to accompany him on a track. padel, since then, Gwenaëlle has never left the court. Except when it comes to going to watch the broadcast of Padel Magazine, World Padel Tour… or Premier Padel…or the French Championships. In short, she is a fan of this sport.
