This weekend, the French U14 and U16 teams (boys and girls) stood out during the qualifying stages of the Winter European Cup. Three of the four competing teams have in fact obtained their qualification for the final phase.

In Cholet, the U16 boys team, composed of Sean Cuenin, Luca Van Assche and Antoine Ghibaudo, beat Bulgaria 3-0 in the final of the qualifying phase. The Blues will play the final phase in Ronchin (Hauts-de-France league) from February 21 to 23.

The French girls' teams U16 (Océane Babel, Laia Petretic and Maëlle Leclercq) and U14 (Sarah Iliev, Carla Fity and Shanice Roignot) managed to reach the finals of these qualifications (beaten respectively by Great Britain and Switzerland). They therefore validated their tickets for the finals, which will take place respectively in Brest (Brittany League), from February 21 to 23, and in Rakovnik (Czech Republic) from February 20 to 22.

The French boys' U14 team (Théo Papamalamis, Baptiste Laggia and Léo Cohen-Bacrie) was beaten by Spain at the semi-final stage.

Note that the tricolor U12 "boys" had already obtained their qualification last weekend for the final phase, which will take place in Sunderland (Great Britain), from February 14 to 16.
