Mario Hernando, the general manager of World Padel Tour since 2016 announced yesterday to the famous Italian sports site la gazzetta that the professional circuit of padel will drop off its suitcases in Italy for 2020.

Le World Padel Tour and the Italian Federation are currently working to announce the formalization of a stage of the World Padel Tour in 2020. The question: Where is it?

2 cities have been announced: Milan and Rome. Two cities competing to host a stage of the World Padel Tour.

Rome would a priori be the first city to host this stage if we are to believe our Italian colleagues. But contrary to what has been said, it will not be a great first in Rome. Indeed, the World Padel Tour had already made a stopover in Rome as part of an Exhibition World Padel Tour in May 2016. The best players in the world were invited.

Le World Padel Tour in Rome

But the World Padel Tour would not be against the possibility of announcing another stage of the World Padel Tour In Milan. From 2020? Not easy. Certainly in 2021, if the Rome Open goes well and Milan remains motivated.

Recall that Italy has been experiencing an explosion of padel. And thousands of fans can't wait to finally see a WPT stop in the Roman capital.

For the chosen site, nothing has yet been finalized. But we are anticipating an Open which would be played outdoors at Foro Itálico. The International Federation of Padel y had organized a FIP 1000 last May, a beautiful international event. The site is exceptional.
