On this March 8, 2022, International Women's Day, the World Padel Tour decided to strike a blow and take an unprecedented measure: offer the same prize-money to women as to men !

The WPT had already taken a big step forward a few days ago by announcing that parity would now be in effect on the Challenger circuit. It goes further today by extending this measure to all of its competitions.

Incredible progress for the padel feminine since until now, girls earned about 2,5 times less than men on the Open and Master.

This new measure, with immediate effect, will change the daily lives of all these professional players. Indeed, we are talking about increases of 250% in the Challenger category, 178% in the Open, 180% for the Masters, and 160% for the Final Masters.

For the WPT, it is “recognize women and their true professional level and reward the sacrifices they have been able to make by accepting to work in unequal conditions until now.”

This is a novelty that could be important at a turning point in the history of the padel .
